Emerging From the Cocoon/ Memoir

Ardis was six years old when her mother had a nervous breakdown, forever changing the trajectory of her life.  It led to a life of uncertainty and fear about her own sanity and turning her back on her mother.

Over forty years later, Ardis’s journey to mother love brought forgiveness and healing into the deepest places of her soul. It also brought a significant relationship with a family in Spain.

“Emerging From the Cocoon: One Woman’s Struggle to Overcome a Legacy of Mental Illness” is the full account of the story between these families and Ardis’s earlier struggles to overcome her fears.  The story also includes the undiscovered musical talent and compositions of Pedro Gonzalez Arbona, the exchange student that brought these families together.

Each step along this journey, Ardis was guided to take bold acts of obedience to find healing and restoration.

Ardis and Rosa will meet face to face in the summer of 2013 in Spain where the final chapters of this story are waiting to be written.
