God has revealed to His people in Rivas, Spain (a Madrid suburb) His desire to heal broken lives.
Mission Background
I visited Madrid in the summer of 2013 with Celebremos la Recuperación, the Spanish version of Celebrate Recovery (CR) in hand and met with members of the Rivas church. Out of this Providential encounter came an invitation from Josh Fajardo, a missionary responsible for the Free Methodist Church in Spain, for me and a team of leaders to return and share with them more about CR. Pastor Josh subsequently visited Seattle, attended local CR meetings, and met with local church leaders to experience it for himself. And a partnership across the world was born.
Seminar Leaders
The mission team is a mixed gender group of local and international CR leaders, with previous CR launch experience, national CR training, and with European cultural and religious context experience and exposure.

- Marvin Klein, American missionary in France, CR participant and ministry leader launch team at Timberlake Church in 2012 and Grenoble, France in 2013, plus CR consulting in Belarus in 2013.

Seminar Information
The CR training seminar and informational meetings will be held in Rivas, Spain October 3-10, 2014. Seminar participants will include pastors and lay leaders from the Free Methodist (FM) Church, local FM ministries and other local church leaders. The goal of the seminar is to give an overall understanding of the program, to provide contextual training related to the Spanish culture, to facilitate real-life recovery experiences for the participants, and to provide initial support to launch this ministry in their home churches.

Local Context
CR is normally held in a church setting and is in over 20,000 churches worldwide, but it is nowhere in Spain. One of the unique opportunities with the Rivas partnership is to have the ministry housed in the Logos Learning Center, an NGO (non-government organization) that helps children, youth and families with their needs.
Speaking in France
At the invitation of my mission partner Marvin Klein, I will be traveling to France and sharing my CR testimony at his church, Protestant Evangelical Church of Grenoble Eybens. The CR program is in its early stages in France, and Europe in general, so live testimonies are very rare. This opportunity is an added bonus to investment in the CR ministry at Marvin’s church and to support the future of Celebrate Recovery in France.
